My epic build.

I do a lot of WordPress work, namely making use of it as a content management system. I figure it’s a great way for people to be able to update many parts of their sites without a lot of fuss.

My latest project is for the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce, building a resource site for California businesses who want to go green. The site will be called Go Green California Business. The design was done by two other Sac City students, Priscilla Garcia and Vitaliy Zavorotny, and I’m now tasked with doing all the backend work. I have to say, it’s one of my larger projects to date.

Basically, I’ve got to take this:

homepage

And then translate it into a lot of lovely CSS and stick in a lot of WordPress code. Oh, and there are about 15 pages. And a lot of other bells and whistles that need to be worked in (like a forum and calendar system, etc.). Magic, eh?

These projects are always a lot of fun, if not super taxing, but I’ll try to update the workings and process of taking the mockup and making it work on the Web.

And oh yeah, I have to get it done by Feb. 6. Yikes.
